A few details on the car-
'79 Pontiac T/A. T-tops. No motor, trans, master cylinder, radiator, tires and bad break lines. A little rot, here and there, but pretty solid where it counts, from what i have seen so far. It is going to be a project that I am sure wont be done anytime soon, but I am sure I will enjoy it the entire time.
Plans-
First thing I need to do is get the body parts all back on the body, as some of the fender flares, fin, headlights, shaker ect. are in the trunk, so they dont get stolen. The car has sat in a city parking lot for almost 2 years.
Need to get the interior all put back together also. The door skins are off, along with the center console.
Then it will need a good cleaning, inside and out.
Next will be the body work it needs. The passenger side front fender is pretty beat up, but think I have a replacement lined up. The drivers door has a good hole in it, filled with bondo that has cracked. A few spots of rust, some worse than others that need some attention.
And then I can sand it all down for a coat of primer.
Gotta get all this done before my wife gets to see it......she wouldnt see past the mess its in, currently, like I do.
Still unsure what I am going to do about an engine/trans on the car.....I could use some advice on my choices. I am leaning towords either a 400 or a Chevy 350, but right now, I am not too picky. I will probly grab whatever I can find thats cheap to put in, to get the car rolling, for the time being. There is plenty of time to find the right engine for it, on down the line.
So far, from what I have seen of the forum- this is a pretty cool community of enthusiasts. I am looking forward to learning a whole lot here. Hope you guys/gals are ready for many, many questions.....because I will be asking them. I dont know a whole lot about these cars....yet. I am looking forward to seeing that change.
