Yea we wish we could of went to 10' for easier heating purposes but we need te height for skidders and loaders when we gotta pull them in the shop.

Are you planning on dry walling it? Also what kinda of insulation you Gunna use? We used 4" pink foam everywhere on ours and damn is it easy to heat.

Our shop is 56x36 and it is a awesome shop. There is so much room. We have to mud trucks in there and one of our modifieds and we still have lots of room.

this is 32x56. there will be a 32x36 area that is heated and then storage in the back part. the walls are going to be made from 2x6's so were using 6 inch insulation i believe. with a wood stove and a furnace it will have no problem staying warm in the winter. not sure what were doing for the interior yet.. prob not drywall since thats super easy to dent up. we are thinking jst using 1/2 inch osb and painting it white and doing the same on the ceiling.. little more durable that way

Drywall isn't bad at all we always have activity in our shop and it's in good shape. We used steel on the ceiling and used 6" of blown in insulation. Steel is really light to hang compared to drywall. Just gotta put plastic down between the steel and insulation otherwise the insulation will actually eat away at the steel.

We are actually Gunna put diamond plate 4' up on the walls when we got sometime. But our shop is a mess right now.

Don't go with OSB - get drywall. OSB burns way too easily.

burns as in catches fire? well yeah thats obvious.. however if this thing catches fire its burning up completely anyway.. by the time the fire dept gets to my house it'll be burnt to the ground..

Osb is fine but just done look anything near the finish looking drywall does.

I cant tell you how many hours we had into ours.

youll be fine with drywall. and if it gets dented who cares its a garage and its nothing putty and, sandpaper, and paint cant fix. if your garage looks like a showroom without a scratch or dent or burn mark anywhere then somethings wrong. if thats what your aiming for is for it to be perfect 100 percent of the time then build a house around it. otherwise take pride in what you built and that it serves the purpose of your needs 100 percent of the time

that shit doesnt fly with my pops... drywall would get destroyed...he would be out fixing that all the time instead.. the walls will deff be getting painted so u wouldnt be able to tell untill u got real close..

the walls on mine are half drywall, half sorta like t1-11 siding. ill take a quick pic for reference even though walls are covered with stuff hangine on them

its hard to see but all the drywall is in tact, and so is the t1-11 because it can take more of a beating. we just bought drywall and the t1-11 and the molding was leftover from actually building our garage

I guess since it's a detached garage it isn't as big of a deal, but I personally would want fire rated drywall. I'd rather be safer than sorry.

We put the hard sheetrock (well, the green backed stuff) on the lower 4 feet of our garage because we planned on washing cars in our garage. Never really did wash anything in there though We put shelving along almost every inch of the perimeter and are just now putting top shelves along outsides, about 3 feet from the top. 11 foot ceiling though. One stall in the corner has a "bat cave" that was built for the Vette and has a ton of storage up top...but that was sold last week so that will be coming down. Looking into two post lifts!

we never had the drywall touch the floor. there a hard plastic or aluminum strip that sits flush with the drywall on ours so the drwayll doesnt get wet and water doesnt seep into any open space.

Hell we have OSB in our bathroom thats just painted. lol
