  • [Project] Operation long Haul

    Well everyone seems to be giving their project a name. My car is a bit past the project stage so I figured Operation Long haul fit as the goal is to do Hot Rod Power Tour next year.
    The upgrades include a new suspension, engine and brakes.

    SUSPENSION: Front lowered 1.5" Rear lowered 1"
    Eibach progressive rate springs
    Edelbrock IAS shocks all the way around
    Tie Rods
    Ball Joints
    Center Link and idler Arm
    Control Arm Bushings
    G-Braces
    Cowl Brace

    ENGINE:
    388 SBC Stroker with reworked Vortec Heads
    Early 70's 4 bolt block bored .060
    906 Vortec Heads ported and reworked, good to .550 lift
    The following parts are all NEW;
    Eagle Stroker Crank
    Keith Black Pistons
    Hastings Moly Rings
    Speed Pro Cam 480/487 and Lifters
    Comp Cams Roller Rockers
    Comp Cams Push Rods
    Melling Select Oil Pump
    Edelbrock Double Roller Timing Chain
    Champ 7qt Oil Pan with Tray and Scraper
    Stewart Water Pump
    Fluidampr Harmonic Dampener
    Edelbrock Performer Intake
    Barry Grant Speed Demon Carb
    Holley Fuel Pump
    All ARP Fasteners
    Motor also came with the Distributor, Starter, Alternator, All Brackets and a GM Serpintine Belt Setup.
    Complete motor ready to drop in and play!

    Brakes: I have all the parts but will wait until the engine and suspension are sorted out to instal.

                      And to think it was only a couple of months ago you had this very car listed for sale in the wmcc newsletter.
                      Glad to see you decided not to sell it and instead build it even better then it was. AWESOME Job Ray!!!

                        Thanks everybody dyno on another identical engine the same guy built was 375hp at 5600rpm and 444tq at 3400rpm plus there is room for a lot more cam if I so choose.

                        @ Curt ... the Speed Demon is a 650

                        @ Gary ... EVERYTHING is for sale ......... it's just that the price has increased a wee bit
