    1988 camaro project

    Finally got it painted...
Not perfect but road worthy! I still need to finish mounting bumpers (front not bolted on so its loose), and get bolts to hold bottoms of fenders, so nothing is aligned right yet. Getting there though.

More progress. Bumpers and tail lights in, fenders lined up:

Thanks! I'm really happy with the way it's coming together. Just about ready for new tires (dry rot from sitting) and a carb rebuild, then should be good for the road.

Is this rattle can? Or how are you spraying it? Also should really just cut out that rear quarter panel.

Rattle can. Keeping everything as cheap as possible for the year so I can get the tires I need to get it on the road to enjoy it. Will eventually cut out quarter, get the hood I want, etc before putting a real paint job on it.

Hah! Yeah I was just looking at his FB page today to see some of his build after a pic of it was posted. I wish I had seen his before I started cutting, might have helped with some of the fabbing to see a nice finished product like that. His looks well done and clean for sure. Not exactly the same but a very close end-result none-the-less.

After a busy year of moving and some life changes, time to get the camaro on the road! I finally got the rims I've wanted. I just need new tires and a carb tune and should be road ready!

Glad to see you still have it.

I like those Corvette wheels. I toyed with the idea of a set for the van.

Yep, still have it and will be driving it soon. The rims were for a great price and close to home. Plus, it's something different. I'm a fan of trying new things and seeing what sticks. My thought was that the rectangular shapes within the rims would work well with the straighter lines of a third gen. Anything is better than the old brown (used-to-be gold) ones that were on there.

Spent some time cleaning the interior. A bit more "wire hiding" and the interior will be wrapped up!

Sounds funny to say, but it's kind of cool seeing a 3rd gen interior without a console.

Thanks! When I switched interior from tan to black, I figured I would try the "no console look" first and if it was no good, just buy one. I like the delete and am sticking with it. Now I need to build a full panel to fill the radio/temp control gap in dash to hide some wiring and to clean up the look.
