  • [Project] It has begun......Heads/Cam

    The parts:
Racetronix fuel pump + hotwire - installed last summer
ASA/GTP injectors - installed last summer
    Patriot stage 2 cnc'd 243 heads 64cc
    Speed Inc SI5 camshaft - 231/237 .589/.595 112lsa
    Comp pushrods
    LS2 Chain
    LS6 oil pump
    Poly motor mounts
gaskets, bolts and all the shit needed to put it back together
Tuning by me - debating on 1bar SD

Goals - I'd like to run somewhere in the 120-125mph range full weight, in good air. Speed Inc typically sees 420-450rwhp out of this combo depending on the drivetrain. I've got a good solid running bolt-on car and it's begging for some more power - it should be fun.

So far I have removed the intake, coil, radiator (what a *****) and the water pump.

its a pretty straightforward swap. If I may throw out a good idea once the waterpump is off take a shop-vac and suck out the coolant in the heads, this will save you from having to clean out the coolant from all the head bolt holes later on.
    Doing less with more

Thanks - I considered bigger, but the SI5 seems to fit. I also considered a TV2, TV3, TRAK, and a custom 231/235 LSL lobes on a 110LSA from Predator Z. After talking to Speed Inc, Larry and Tony earned my business.

Thanks for the offer - considering my accident and such, I'm only able to work on it for an hour or 2 at a time before I get sore/tired. I'd hate for you to make the trek and me to poop out on you. I've got my brother and dad on call if I need them as well.

Why not - it'll be more consistent and may gain a few hp. It's not like my car is a DD.
