Not sure how i haven't seen this thread yet!

I hope you checked the bottom of the doors for rust under the weather seals. that is one of the places that catch you off guard and by that time it is already too late.

    All K1500s were 6-bolt wheels.

I see want to modify the TBI350. Please don't. the TBI350 is probably the most reliable engine GM ever made. If you want gas mileage you shouldn't have bought it The TBI doesn't flow, the heads don't flow, the cam doesn't flow, its a low compression block ... by the time you fix all that you could've bought a crate engine. You'll end up spending thousands modifying the TBI350 to gain a couple MPG and lose the awesome reliability it has now. Flip the air lid over if you want it to breathe better (and sound like a four barrel ) and if you really get anxious you could do headers and a full exhaust. But I would stop there.

no, it stands for old body style. Its a stupid internet acronym that originated on internet web-forums because people asking questions about them were not intelligent enough to use their C/K designation.

its only that way on the passenger rocker and cab corner, so you i believe you can buy new rocker panels for these through goodmark or something. the driver side the fender has a bit of rust on it, but not on the cab. i know its very reliable, the engine is already a jasper crate 350, i just want to fix the misfire, air filter so it breathes better, he put new original manifolds and new exhaust on the truck beforehand also. as for not modifying it too death, i already knew that and its not in my budget, but how about a chip for it?

I don't see why it is necessary. That truck pre-dates torque management which is where modern gassers see most of their performance gains when tuned. That truck should already be able to pull a house off its foundation Theres no point in chasing peak HP numbers with that beast.

it happened in my camaro, my dads old 90 c1500 and this truck, maybe its a chevy thing. and since i see you have a truck of my era i have a few other questions if you could help. when you turn your truck on or off, is there about 30 seconds where there is a whining inside the cab of the truck? and darren i think the 33's are big enough for now

                  Nope.

But if you are talking about the annoying door chime its an easily removable module under the dashboard - still shouldnt be whining that long though.

no the doors could be open or closed it doesnt matter, as soon as the keys gets turned to the off position theres a whining noise almost like an electric motor of some sorts, its not 30 seconds more like 10 or 15

not bad! I would have bought that for $1000. I miss both of my old OBS trucks. (the white one in my sig has been sold):

                          and the Z28 duals

I loved it but it was killing me using it as a daily driver. I would have loved to have kept it as a weekend toy to put a lift kit on and pull trailers, but it wasn't in the cards for me financially. I had been fighting rust in various places, and I drive too much for the mileage it was getting, plus it was about to roll 100k so i figured it was a good time to sell. It was fully loaded and very clean, paint in the bed was still new. Miss it alot, but it was a move i don't regret.
