Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

little bit of an update that I forgot about. Did some more stripping/sanding on the DS Quarter and found more rust. This is what was causing the bubbles on the DS.

Well, it has been a while since I have updated, so here goes.
Got everything prepped on labor day weekend, but because of duties back at school, I had to go back on Sunday afternoon. Well, my dad was starting to prime it as I was leaving, and I told him to leave it after that so we could finish it next weekend. I got a call Monday afternoon from my mom saying that my dad was very upset. I didn't understand why she was calling me to tell me this, that is until she told me that he had went a painted the car, but we had a few different paints up in our cabinets. I guess he grabbed the wrong one (GM Fleet white as apposed to Arctic White), which is only about 1-2 shades off, just barely noticeable. I was shocked that he had taken his weekend off to paint my car, so I felt it was because he had taken his time to paint my car that he was upset. That was not the case though, it was because the paint didn't match, he felt he had let me down. I had to tell him quite a few times that he had not disappointed me, and that I was humbled that he did this for me. Now that his is looking at an F-body, I hope that I get to introduce you guys to a truly outstanding man. And for my dads skill level for painting cars, I quote my uncle (the body guy) "Not bad for a dirt guy".
Wow very nice! I wish my dad did body work and painted cars (and helped me on mine!) how cool. I bet it looks fine even with the mishap plus it adds some character and a good story along with it.
One thing I forgot to mention is that after I got it reassembled, I took it for a drive (what else would you do at two in the morning after it has been down for a year ). Well when I got back, I noticed a large chip of paint missing on my hood and it was bulgd, WTF!?!? I open my hood and noticed the paint looked like it was hit by something that was spinning. I investigate for a second, and realize that the fan on my expensive, high end alternator was GONE!! The fan had exploded and hit the hood, tore through the protective cover on the A/C lines, and marred the alternator bracket. I took it to my uncles body shop to get a quote. Almost $700!!! Thankfully, insurance covered it and I had the car back a week later. When I got it back, my dad and I were looking at it and I remarked on the quality of the finish. "Damn, did they cut and buff it too?" My dad snickered and said "Nope, that is just how good their guns are" I have to get us one of those.
Might as well update this. I have been working on getting the paint up to par over the last few weeks since I have all the stuff down here working on the lights for the black car.
This past weekend:
the car received new tires (I will get these cleaned up and get some pics)
I started the JoeliusZ28 intake mod. Running into a couple bugs, but they are mostly self-caused and will be figured out soon enough (that's what I get for being cheap and not getting the slp lid)
Started trying to install a new opti, and have ran into quite a few issues so far. So now it is the end of weekend 2 of working on it, and still no deice.
Issues I have had so far:
-Stripped out belt tensioner
-Seized balancer puller
-Decided to just replace the coil and ignition module, had to wait a week
-Pulled the opti and found out I bought the wrong one
-Went to clean the pit, so I pulled the car out. As I went to shut the hood, the drivers side hood shock bound up and is completely bent now
I think she is getting pissed off at me for not driving her

You should just get a ram air hood and bolt the LS1 setup on as is. MUCH easier and better than cutting everything up like I did.
Wow - you had enough room with the stock hood to do the LS1 lid? I checked my clearance with my aftermarket hood and I have basically no clearance... I'm thinking I won't be able to do the mod I wanted after all.

I have not gotten it finished yet, so idk. Opti has taken precedence over the intake for now, then I move on try to get my new v6 car running before I will get back to it.
Lost oil pressure last night. Was just driving back to the school when I noticed it start bouncing between 0 and 15psi. Limped it 1/4 mile to the school parking lot, and it just dropped off to 0 as I entered. Got it pulled in and nothing was leaking from it, it was in the operating range for oil, was full of coolant, and did not over-heat. Hopefully it is something simple
I got a couple different engines you can chose from if you need one. Good luck
Brian and I talked about it in the SB this morning, said something about a oil pick up tube could have fallen off? Hopefully it is something kinda simple for you.
