  • [Project] And so it begins part II

Felt motivated today... Took my son to work and showed him the ropes, after we got home decided it was time to mess with the car.. Pulled the intake, valve covers and nitrous solenoids.. Got my work cut out for me, the wiring for the nitrous under the hood is equally as bad as what is in the car. Going to be a lot of work fixing that shit!!! Intake is going to be repainted, unsure of color at the moment.. But it won't be red... Very pleased with how everything looked under the valve covers, 1st time I've had em off in 4 years.. The yella terra rollers look as new as the day I put them in... Here's some pics... Enjoy the mess.. Oh, question the the injector? The end piece came off when I pulled the fuel rail, I popped it back on but am wondering if that is acceptable??

Clean, clean clean, fix the nitrous wiring hack job, fuel rails, relocate solenoids.. Just try to make it clean.. Have to decide on a intake color... Flag would be cool Fred, but way out of my budget...

I would not airbrush that intake unless you clear powdercoat it afterwards. think about it when you get fuel on the paint when you take off the fuel line...

Oh I know.. I will probably just rattle can and clear.. Not looking to spend a small fortune on painting the intake.. But the red has to go...

That plastic piece is called a pintle cap and it is designed to snap onto the end of the injector. As long as it's not cracked it's fine. Normally they get old and brittle and crack, that's why they come off.

Thanks James.. It's not cracked or anything, just got stuck in the intake when the pulled the fuel rail/injectors. It snapped right back on..

What exactly do they do? I can honestly say I've never seen one before...
