Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
so how about some updates on this thing... or has nothing got done like usual
Engine? Yes, there has been progress..... I just have to work on some of the logisitics of moving the engine here, get the body work done, get some shit done outside of driveline assembly...THEN ship the engine BACK down for a few more pulls. Sure could use a truck right now.....
OR.....I just wait until February to get it back and do a mad dash assembly of everything.
Shocked?

Just have them FINISH the engine with everything so its ready to go and you only have to ship it here once or drive down and get it once not twice. Stop doing things backwards If you had the engine by February then I see NO reason why you cant have it on the road by the first nice week in March/April.

I agree Darren....problem is there are "other things" in the build I intend on having done that I havent published. Moving the engine twice makes no sense....but might make sense if worse case scenario shit pops up that put me into the summer for completion. Considering my work schedule and life in general, I trying to pull timing ahead then put it off. Car HAS to be done, running, tuned before Power Tour...
One time saving option still available (but at yet ANOTHER cost) is having engine, trans, exhaust installed locally and save me a butt load of time. I'll figure it out....

You, good sir, have the patience of a saint. I'm sure most of us would have thrown everything together just to drive it only to tear it apart and "do it right" shortly thereafter.
Lol...thanks Matt. Thinking it must be old age..... Will have to confirm with Larry (he has more experience in the age department).
Problem is that the longer I wait, the more shit I add to the list. Think once the engine finally gets here, the frustration and impatience will be overwhelming... The wait is all on Crane. Final development of their latest lobe design will be complete late Jan early Feb (hopefully that doesnt mean March / April ) . They've asked to "hold on" until they're done...."we'll have something good for you...".
Having been there and done that with "claims" like that on this build, if I have the chance to get this engine home and get all the things that need to get done, I may have a fighting chance in getting it done on time.....this time.
Btw Fred if you're reading this....you wanna hit?

If it's any consolation, Brent already has me beat for progress. I've had my Camaro for three years come this February, and although I admittedly have made a lot of appearance (and a couple of minor performance) mods to it, it still has the same trailer park paint job on the rear bumper cover (made far less heinous thanx to the hard work of Joel before his forced retirement), and the same huge rear quarter dent that it had when I bought it off eBay!
Of course, I'm guessing that my paychecks look a little bit different than his, too...

Hey!!!! Welcome back Kyle!!!
To get you caught up....the possibility of a cam change is on Crane Cams...they saw the engine during a visit down there while working with Shawn on some other projects and mentioned some new technology that would very well with this combo. Because its so new, they are just finishing up some testing. Assuming all works out as planned, we should have a new grind to play with in Jan or Feb....and maybe a few more ponies. Should know a lot more after PRI...
Might spin it to 7k on the next one!
Figure after waiting this long another couple months shouldnt hurt......might kill Sean, but it'll be fine.
