Yamaha actually changed little things like breaks, jets, etc on the 250 and still does.

    2010 YZ 250 FTW.

    good thread btw
Ahh... I see what you're saying now.

I agree on that YZ though! The new bikes are still bad ass. Just can't justify $6,500 on a new one when I can get a nice 4 year old unit for like $3000-3500. Not like its a new car here. This is a vehicle meant to be abused and taken in dirty places, you know? A new set of plastic and graphics can make a 2005 look just like a 2010 for about $300.

Wow, I'm super jealous. I had a 1989 CR125 about 5 years ago that was super fun to rip apart and clean up. I turned around and sold the bike in 2008 because all my riding buddies went into the military. What did you end up paying for the bike? I'd love to own an old school 250 of some sort if I can find one like you did.

Thats exactly what I did to my 06. Made it a clone of a 09 with 250 bucks.

I love the stock graphics. So nice to see a 20 year old bike that looks near factory.

I love them too! I went to the dealer to get stock graphics for my bike and they have been discontinued. That's why I have nothing on there. There are only 2 graphics kits available for the 90-92 CR and they are both so colorful and stuff. I wanted just the simple honda wing and name like on Mikes bike.

Mike, what's that kick starter off of? It's super skinny and shorter compared to mine. Maybe a CR125?

Tom the kick starter is off of a 1992 CR250. The stock one was very loose causing it to rub on my nice creramic coated DG pipe.

The shrouds were bought off of eBay with the graphics in that condition for cheap. You just need to keep your eyes open.
