Hmm, must've been confused on pricing...was checking out street tires a while ago and BFG's are ~200 apiece. As much as I'd like to put a sticky tire on mine I'm positive that once I do things will start breaking, which I don't want to happen.

i dont think DRs are a good idea on M6 cars. Automatics have the torque converter to absorb both shock and absorb any 'resonating' forces generated by wheel hop (also and pulsating clutches on an M6). M6s dont have that luxury.

I ran a DR for about a week on my car and decided that i would never do it again until i had a beefier rear. I would however throw some wrinkle walls on the 10 bolt (if i had any) because they will absorb shock. I just wouldnt be doing rev-limiter launches with them

I wouldnt suggest a wrinkle wall for a 6 speed car either. I MESSED up my 10 bolt with ONE launch on a centerforce clutch and et streets..................not pretty, not at all, lol. Eric L

well... how hard were you launching? If i put a wrinkle wall on my car i would do so with a good degree of self-restraint. Just anything so i can cut a little better than my wonderful 2.1s

Common Joel whats the point of putting a tire on the car if your not even gonna launch it. If you put some slicks on your car and they dead hooked from a 4K dump you know the next time you came around the tack would be at 5K awaiting the 3rd yellow

I wouldnt even hit it with a 4K dump. A 3k launch would get me moving a LOT faster than the car has ever done in its life. I think i'll take the 1.8 60 and the ability to drive the car home.

On the other hand if ive got a fresh 8.8 or 9" ready for me at the track - we would have to find out how many rev limiter launches a 10 bolt can take. In the name of science of course.

well glad to see your working on getting it there, you should be able to get there no problem once you can get rid of the wheel hop. BTW i LOVE how well my car hooks with sfc, boxed lca's, lcs relocation, 4.10, drag radials, and torque arm relocation crossmember, even with the 10 bolt. although i know it wont last much longer (knock on wood)

I launched at around 3-3500, it didnt skatter, but it made some BAD noises from there on out, lol. I wouldnt recomend it. IMHO, trying to run 12s in a 6 speed is a big waste of money. You pretty much need 5 grand in drivetrain to do it reliably, when you could do it stock with an auto. I like my 6 speed, but if i were to get seriously into racing the car again, i would put a th350 back in it. Eric L

psh, my 6 speed will be running consistent 12s this year without traction

And what did it take? My 94 ran 12s with bracket race consistancy with shorty headers, flowmaster cat back and a ASAM CAI and a 3500 converter. You know what im saying Joel. I like my 6 speed just as much as you, but if drag racing was my thing with this car, I wouldnt be running a 6 speed. Eric L

I agree with Campbell, you could DD the Nittos but I think they suck for a drag tire, throw some 255 mickey thompson drag radials on those 16s and don't look back. I used mine for track use only and I'm going on the 3rd or 4th years with the same tires.

Ditto. Although my car is a daily driver during the summer so I use it for other things than going down the 1320, such as cornering.

Id be happy with a 12.70! Thanks again Mike, we had some good weather up here the last 2 days and ive had a pretty good opportunity to thrash on it and am impressed as hell every time, I should have done the bigger converter to start with, was SO worth it!

So I take it no one has a water pump laying around? Guess ill pick one up from AZ or something tonight after work.

Definitely picking up Daves cam and PR's, hes already started removal, I cant wait!

I need your thoughts on springs, CS3 has got the pac 1218's in, or I can go with a dual spring. Cam specs are 224/224 .561/.561 112LSA, is a dual nesesary or worth it for this application?

IMHO, just go with whatever spring the cam manufacturer recomends. You dont nescessarily have to buy THIER springs, but go with there specs. I have good luck running K motion stuff on the race car. Good luck, Eric L
