Thanks alot man. Its gonna be a blast to drive. The 350 has to get built soon, the rings in this motor are fried. Its blowing black smoke out of the headers

Congrats on getting it running. But is it blue or black smoke? in the vid it looks like blue, and that would be oil. But black would be raw fuel.

its black, we know its gas in the cylinders. Its jsut a temporary motor until we tear the 350 apart and taken to a shop for a cleaning and get the cylinders honed. Then its a money game but owell that its burning gas, atleast it runs. Thats enough for me for now

Oh ok. But if it was gas in the cylinders I would suspect a carb problem. If the rings were bad, how would it be buring raw fuel? It would just burn oil, or gas would be going in your oil threw the rings. Just trying to help.

The carb was just rebuilt they day before it went on the motor. One of my buddy said to turn down the Fuel PSI and it will probably clear up.

Alright so we turned the Fuel psi down, a lot, and also put some 93 octane gas in it and it seems to smoke a lot less now.

Well looks like my dad may be trading the .040 over 350 we have along with the 202 heads for another 350 with vortec heads, cam, and a 750 Holley carb with a high rise intake. After that were just going to save money for a 383 or maybe something bigger. So looks like the 305 will be coming right back out sooner than we thought and dropping a RTR 350 in it. Lets hope everything goes smooth.

Alright heres the new run down. A family friend or could say relative since hes been around long enough, has a 1980 Monte Carlo. The car has a SBC 350, vortec fast burn heads, sweet intake, not sure what brand it is, cam, and all the goodies. I took a ride in it today and, WOW, the car moves with 225/14 wheels. They dont hook right away but when you get on the throttle the car gets SIDEWAYZ. Anyways, were going to trade him motors, were givin him the .040 over block, 202 heads and performer intake for his motor plus a Holley 750cfm carb needing a rebuild. The camaro is going to be TITS when its done. We will have to get a posi asap. All should be done within the next couple of weeks as in getting the motor put together and swapping them all out. I cant wait.
