  • [Project] 2 projects in 1 thread, a b-body and an f-body

Well i'll post the details of the B-body first. 1993 Chevy Caprice Classic 140k miles on the clock and current DD for my mom. 305 tbi v8 stock rims. What's been done to it so far.... Full Kenwood system from the head unit to the 12" sub. Primer gray and 1" lift cups in the rear, and it's still not high enough to not scrape in the drive way. Plans..... Small block 350 Flat Blue paint 17" Impala SS wheel, already have 2 may drop it 2 inch's all the way around tinted windows Posi rear may consider a disc swap for the rear How it started, The car was for sale just down the street from where I live. The guy was asking $1500, so we test drove it. Everything worked fine and it did have major rust issues. Ended up buying for $1100. It has come a long way since then and had a set back just over this winter. Not to bad and it will be painted come spring time. I don't really have any before pics but i'm sure you get the idea of what it used to look like There was a nice hole here before. This is after we cut the dead metal out and welded new metal in. And these are after pics, most of the body work is done in these. Dream Cruise shot The rims we are going to run this year 17" SS rims with 255/50/17 BF Goodrich Radial TA's After the 2x4 wrecked the front of the car this winter. Notice the lump in the hood and the bumper. This does not show all of the damage and the old grill is on the car now. Had the SS grill on when this happened and it was shattered, and all sorts of things are bent up under the hood. And that's it for this project so far. I'll update this as we do more work to it. Please comment our work. We do all of the work ourselves including paint and welding.

Nice, but you said the Caprice drags now in driveways but you want to lower it?

yea, hopefully we are going to get the drive way re done this year. Asphalt didnt hold up too long with all the burnouts
Possibly will do an air ride system. My buddy has one in his 96 SS and it tucks 20's now. The same rims that are on the caprice up top

                          Cool projects.
But to save you some headache before you buy tires. 275's wont fit on the rear of a 3rd gen with 16in iroc's. No bigger than 255's and thoes are really close. So you wont be able to do 275's unless you get some different rims with a different off set. Good luck with the cars!

Yea we know they will be too big. On our old trans am we had 295's on the back. That little monster only had a 305 but it smoked the tired like they were 195's. Then we had 265's all the way around and they didnt rub not one bit. I'll find a pic of our old TA and show you with the 265's. I think i have one that shows the 295's too

Well, small update. My dad got a nice bonus from work, he may be buying a new carb this weekend and all the gaskets. He thinks we need a new shifter too, the one in there now, which is a B&M Megashifter, gets stuck in drive when you go through the gears. It locks in drive and you have to fight to get the lockout to release. So not sure what the problem is there. Oh and this is all in and for the Camaro.
And i got a new timing chain from BAMF TA
