    • Just went out and installed my tuned PROM chip from PCM4Less. . . Didn't think the fans turning on earlier would have any negative effects without the 160* t-stat being in there yet, so I took it for a spin. . . OMG, the car feels 100x better than it did before all of this work was done. I would have called it "fast" before, but now, I'd venture to say it's "scary fast". It still isn't anywhere near what it will be after some more work, but it's MUCH better than before. It used to stumble and fall on it's face in the mid-range, the only time it seemed to make any power was at WOT. Now, I can barely push the pedal down, and the car will pull enough for you to actually feel like you are really accelerating. It will throw you back in your seat when I go full throttle, and now I'm able to spin the tires a lot more easily. No more brake torquing it for this guy, I'm able to turn those 275's over just by hammering the throttle. I'm VERY impressed with the car now, and I think I finally found my motivation to keep on modding the car.

After a converter and gears, I'm thinking heads and cam would be a nice improvement. . . I just need to get a job that will pay well enough for me to keep doing this. lol

Just grabbed a quick vid out in the driveway, cutout closed, idle, revved it a couple times, then squealed the tires. . . Real quick vid. I'll throw some old tires on it and go out to the boonies for a burnout video in a few days, just need to find a cameraman that isn't easily distracted by shiny objects.

That was with the cutout closed. . .

Open cutout vids will come after I get the electric cutout mounted next week.

I think it may have a small exhaust leak somewhere, I'll have to double check everything, one of the clamps probably just isn't tight enough. I'll grab another vid once I get the work done on it that I'm about to do, I'm going to replace the oil pressure sensor (Yeah, I broke it, but it was poorly designed, so I don't feel bad about it), then seafoam the engine, then change the oil. The car is running great, I really can't believe I didn't do this sooner.

The exhaust sounds great when it's not leaking. Hopefully the oil change and seafoam will have the car running even better, then I can start tracking down this SES code and get that cleared up.

It looks even better now, with the STB, fabbed aluminum valve covers, headers, CAI, etc. It's going to look like a completely different car by the end of the summer. I'll have the body work started (if not finished this year), and maybe even be rocking a new paint job.

It has a REALLY nice tone at WOT, too. . . Makes Mustangs sound like ****. Well, it's hard to hear them over the sound of how awesome the LT1 is, but still, they suck. lol I'll have Ben ride with me sometime to grab an in-car video after the stuff I still need to do to the car is all done.

I took it for another little "spirited" drive out in the country, and I'm still completely amazed at how fast this thing feels compared to a week ago. I'm going to run a bottle of seafoam through the gas tank tomorrow, then I'll put 1/2 can through the oil and brake booster on Monday before I change the oil. Results will be posted as soon as the process is done, but I'm sure it's going to wake the car up even more, just like the last time. I'll probably install the new trans mount too. After that, I'll be installing the 160* t-stat, and I'll probably take it down the road to have the coolant flushed. I'm really hoping I can get this car fixed up enough to actually be able to run the A/C this summer. I used to have to shut off the A/C to pass people on the highway, the car just fell flat on it's face while the A/C was running. If I can't accomplish that this year, I can think of another system on the car that will be on my "delete" list. lol

                          • the a/c thing makes no sense, a/c shuts off at WOT so it shouldn't have any affect on the engines performance.

                            • nice updates! and dont know if you figured out whats going on with your oil pressure sending unit, but mine didnt work when i just put the new motor in, so i just ran a mechanical one right to a gauge so then i know exactly where it is. but if yours is by the oil filter that is WAY easier than mine, thats why i didnt mess with mine lol
