  • I like my unvented opti. My old one had 140,000 on it and when I installed my new one just because the motor was out of the car. I took it apart and used rtv on the seal and lock tighted the bolts.

      • If you want this engine to live I wouldn't use that FRAM oil filter. Small price to pay a couple times a year, go with a K&N or a WIX.

          • I have heard more than one person say that they lost a motor to a fram filter collapse than anything else, I agree I DON'T use fram at all your call but I would switch and not chance it

            • Yup, I've had multiple frams collapse on me when I was removing them, just a very cheaply built filter. There is a reason they give them away at the autoparts stores, lol.

                  • Ive heard the same thing about fram also. But that being said, ive never had a problem with them on my dailys. I normally run AC Delco on my stuff, and I have a system 1 on the valiant. But IMHO, the best in the business is WIX hands down. And NAPA gold filters are re badged wix in a differant box. SYSTEM 1 is the bomb, and its cleanable and reusable. Pays for itsself in a year or two. I have chunked a LOT of parts in that motor and the system 1 has caught them all, lol. And being how it has a cast aluminum housing, i dont see it collapsing. Eric L
