not a whole lot going on right now...
liberty gears is shooting me a quote of about 1650-1750 for the trans so its going to take me a pay check or two to get it back, sadly this means no buying other parts..
once liberty had my trans ripped apart i took the case for powdercoat...they hit it with that bright red that the other parts got. i ment to take some pictures when i picked it up from powdercoat and i had to take it back over to liberty gears.....but i forgot my camera at the house thats like an hour away..
x2
i broke my own rule of not buying anything and finally bought my set of arp main studs and installed them...one of the outside studs on the center cap dosnt want to thread in so im not going to mess with it...when i take it to my engine shop ill let them know the issue with the center cap so they can fix it, other than that, theyre all locked down tight, my guy just has to touch up a hole on the center cap, align bore it real quick and im going to have him hot wash the block so itll be ready for powdercoat
other than that stuff, theres nothing going on, money is starting to head south right now....im starting to get into the big expensive stuff now so all my paychecks are starting to not do the job, or atleast not as fast....geez, its like the m&g is coming up wayyy too fast right now...
anyways....heres some pix of the new studs...nothing exciting, sorry guys

alright...its almost that time again... i just got my block back from the shop...again...they had to do the final align bore on the mains...they said it was tweeked pretty nasty with those arp studs but now its ready to rock. also got a hot tank for it to clean up the insides a little bit, and they tossed in my new cam bearings. this morning i ordered my main and rod bearings for the engine and im going to start file fitting my rings this weekend. in the morning i want to go get my internals, flywheel/pressureplate, and balencer checked out...make sure theyre correctly balenced, the eagle rotating assy is internaly balenced and i have a neutral harmonic balencer and had my flywheel neutral balenced so i should be good but i just want to double check it all. once i get all that stuff back itll be go time with that engine. if all goes well then engien building should start mid week and i can start getting some pictures up agian!< Black Betty >

alright well i got my bearings from summit in a little while ago so that means engine building time starts tonight! i gotta get my rings done first and as long as i dont lose my mind doing the rings we'll see what i can get done tonight/this morning! i still need to find my pushrod length and order them and i still need to get some o-rings for the transfer tube between the fuel rails but other than that im pretty much good with the engine... anyways...im hitting the garage now..will have some pix up tonight/morning for you guys

Some nice progress! To me, the best feeling in building an engine is getting that bottom end in. Once that's in and checked and double checked its all a cake walk from there.2005 Yamaha R6

HUGE set back...got the rotating assembly all in and i was hitting the caps with the torque wrench and the last bolt broke just before the wrench clicked...pretty p.o.'d right now because those arp cap bolts shouldnt have broke...especialy when i havnt even hit the recomended ft/lb on that one... so now im gonna have to take the rod up on monday and have the bolt pulled out of it...i dont trust myself enough to do that on a rod. im going to have to wait till friday when i get paid and order another set of those bolts and pull all the old ones out and replace them... bummer.. at least that bolt failed during assembly and not when i went to fire the engine the first time right?

Ouch! Thats terrible! I assume your not paying for the new set of bolts? I sure wouldn't be, also, if you didnt hit the tq spec that would leave me to believe that it was a manufacturing issue, could be a bad batch, Id pull them all just in case and get all new ones. Sure would be a ***** if others failed once you got it back together and running.1999 Camaro - 6 liters of fury.....

I'm probably gonna call arp on monday and see if they will send me a new set if not ill have to wait till friday to order another set from summit. And yeah I backed all of the others off finger tight..ill deffinatly scrap this set once I get new ones in. Either way that pretty much screws me on the engine building for a while..< Black Betty >
