alright so ive been thinking..... im not sure if i want to put the back seats in.. theyre still grey/whatever and i havnt found someone to re-do them in black.. its possible to get into the back seat with the bars..if your small...but it is possible so theres some mild purpose in doing so.. other hand is save my self a lot of time and money and just leave them out but you guys think it will look funny? secondly...ive got a second rjs harness for the pass. side (dvr side is already installed)...should i instal it? its not a big deal and would kinda complete the look... not sure tho...... anyone care to toss some opinions/ideas out there?

dont put backseats in. with the roll bars they are pretty much pointless. lol even without roll bars they dont serve much purpose. and i say put the pass side harness in to complete the look.

alright cool...thats kinda what i was thinking. also...yet another slight speed bump.... im running into issues with finding a good spot to mount my speed/tach gauges... i was thinking about ripping the gauge cluster apart and using the clear plastic peice as a mount for them but theyre just a little to big for the gauge trim to fit around...not to mention the clear plastic peice has a nice curve... ideas anyone?

Really....that would be perfect.. 6le? My only issue is that the gauges are just a little larger than the gauge trim that snaps into the dash so I don't know... I might be able to make something work with something like that

You can create mock boxes that fit where the rear seats go and can be used for storage. 6LE sells a "backseat delete" kit that has these boxes.

I checked out 6le and they don't have one for the gauge cluster..I think I'm going to have to just make something work.
The back seat deletes are kind of cool but I don't think ill go that route...I want to leave the seats out if it looks alright...if it looks terrible then ill probably go that route

those rear seat deletes look awesome, wish they made them for 82-92 or would those work too? I would love to know I would use them.. nice coupe design and a space to set speakers or a N20 bottle

alrighty...so i woke up this morning feeling a little froggy and i decided to hit this gauge cluster issue hard. after about an hour of brain storming, i started to get a little down and unsure of myself but right before i took off it hit me... fiberglass.. i forgot i had about 20sq ft of fiberglass cloth and a half gallon of resin in my attic...all i needed was hardner..
after a trip to the hardware store for hardner i decided the best bet for me was to use the while shell of the old gauge cluster and cut everything out of the center of it with my rotozip. i took a peice of cardboard and trimed it till it fit perfectly onto the white shell just the same as the clear plastic the oem needles mount to. once i got my cardboard set, i lined up the gauges and punched some smaller rough holes so once fiberglass is done, trimming with the rotozip will be a zip anyways...i just hit the cardboard with the first layer of fiberglass and its starting to take a turn for the better already once the part is all done all ill have to do is trim the gauge holes, and the black plastic trim that screws to the front of the gauge cluster a little where its going to touch the new gauges and ta-da!

oh yeah and update on the engine... the shop just gave me a ring and let me know its all done i dont think im going to rush picking it up though...roads are kinda bad and im already on a roll with the gauge cluster so im not going to push anything..

looks like you've got a great idea I like the way its going, I think some guys even use a thick piece of foam to mount to because its cheap and easy and light.

got a couple more coats done, trimed the gauge holes so they fit, and threw a little bit more resin on. im waiting on it to dry nice and good then it willl be time for my final triming and sanding then time for dye
