you know brian... if can get that LT4 kit you could get away with just using the LT4 springs and 1.6 rockers. Tune and gaskets would not be necessary.

                        • Honestly, changing the springs is the biggest thing that holds me back from doing it - it was a f***ing pain to mess with the springs but maybe with the heads bolted down to the car it might be easier? Hmmm... we'll see.

You must have been using a cheap spring compressor. With the one I use you can have the spring changed out in under a minute a spring. I've never had a problem with it coming loose or slipping off. Another trick if you have fat fingers is to dip the keepers in vasoline before attempting to get them back in place. That way they stick to the valve.

                            • With the heads out of the car its cake. Just throw the big C clamp looking thing spring compressor on there with one end on the valve, other end on top of the spring and clamp er down. Magnet to get the retainers out, and then a really good trick to get them back in, is to use a small stick, and some really thick grease to hold the retainers on the stick. That way you don't have to be fumbling around trying to get retainers back in there with your Jimmy Deans.
