I know, and I am, in fact I need to update my thread. But once mine is done if I can help I would be glad to. We'll see what happens, I'd really like to drive mine to the M&G.

                • We're shooting to have the Project DZ74 done by the Berger Show the 3rd weekend in August. With this nice weather I've been able to get out there nearly every day and am making some nice progress. I think our goal is very attainable at this stage, maybe even done before Berger!

                      • Since the last update we got the SFC's welded in thanks to John Smith (WMCC). Also, the rear was just sitting toooo high and we didn't think it would settle enough. Soooo Doug and Tim pulled the rear end yet again and took the leaf springs down to State Spring and they re-arched them. It was only like $40
I went over today and we got a ton done.
Pulled the heater box to get ready for the new AC.
Put the sound deadener on the roof and behind the rear seat.
Got the whole rear interior, and new headliner installed as well as the new dash pad. I'll let Doug tell you about the new OER direct fit dash pad LOL.

Pics are of the new stance, sound deadener, interior and dash.

                              • Well, Ray and I are out of the deck building business, and back to working on cars ! LOL

Ray has been a great help and has been very dedicated, helping on the Project when ever he has a chance.

He mentioned talking about installing the new dash pad. If we have learned anything during this Project, it's that "bolt on" rarely means that it will really just "bolt on". It's been a little frustrating that so many aftermarket parts need some sort of modifications to actually bolt them on.

Anyone with a 2nd Gen Camaro knows about the original dash pads warping over the years. Well, the OER reproduction dash pads are supposed to eliminate this problem with different materials and construction than the originals. However, they also have a reputation of not fitting real well, out of the box. We found this out yesterday.

It took several sessions with the die grinder and a carbide burr, to massage the pad to fit anywhere close onto the metal part of the dash. But, with these mods it finally looks pretty good!
