McLeod makes/made an adaptable shifter for the T56 that allowed the stick to be repositioned in several locations, forward & back and from side to side. It's no longer on their website (???). Anyway it was over $300 too, but I think we can fabricate something very similar and get the stick to come out where it needs to for the original style console.

Not too much in the last couple of weeks. I've been gone a lot the last two weekends.
The rear suspension is all but done. The sway bar is mounted and just the shocks remain to go on. We need some different rear e-brake cables. The engine/trans are in for good.
