Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!

Way to go guys, You are making some awesome progress! What are you going to do with the 4-speed hump? Leave it and cover it with a console? or cutout it out and blend it in? I was fortunate enough to start with an auto tranny tunnel. Again, way to go, looks good!

We'll be using a console. So we will need to modify the shifter arm to come out where the original 4 speed shifter did.
Yes, we're making some nice progress, but there's still along way to go. Sometimes it seems like there are a million parts to deal with! LOL
RIP Doug,You will always be remembered

Derek, it would have been cool to have been able to move the hump back to fit where the 6 speed shifter sits but there was a rush to get the car painted so fitting before paint didn't happen. Doug and I think we have a way figured out to use the original Hurst chrome 4 speed shift handle and move it to the original location and still be attached to the shifter on the 6 speed. We did a mock up with the original console to see where the 6 speed shifter sits and where the hole for the 4 speed is. I hope our idea works. so it will look original from the inside.

OH WOW, I guess I just assumed you would be using a late model console. I like the idea of using a second gen console with the T56, I am envisioning the shifter to look something like the forward leaning shifters from the AC Cobras but with a bit of an "S" bend in it.

The 6 speed shifter sits about 4" back and about 1/2-3/4" to the right of where the original 4 speed shifter sat. I know Hurst makes a ton of different shift handles but I'm not sure they make one with enough forward spacing that has the right pull back on it. I mentioned this to Doug before we started playing with ideas to make it work.
