Sandblasting is coming along slowly. One time it's the air compressor dying, and another time it's a worn out valve on the blaster, or no blaster tips. I would say we're about 1/2 way done blasting the underside.
James, I think Wednesday evening should work OK. Justin, the next 5 weekends are going to be tough, as I will be gone, at least some of the time, each weekend. Club meeting, 40th Anniv. Show, Woodward, Berger Show, Club meeting ........ we'll have to try to work around all that.RIP Doug,You will always be remembered

Yeah I know it, it's just been a rough year, not only financially but with family matters too. I'm still trying to get things settled with my dad passing away. Yesterday was the first time in weeks I've had time to do some things around the house outside that needed to be done.
I feel awful that I haven't been able to be at any events really, but I've had to except that it just isn't in the cards right now, hopefully things settle down and maybe I'll see you guys some this fall.
Then yeah, somehow I need to get the $$ and time to work on my project too.
Anyway, hope you guys can get it done soon.

No. Called off due to the heat. Way too uncomfortible to be sandblasting, or just about anything else outside, for that matter!RIP Doug,You will always be remembered

I'm seein' a pattern here. I'm thinking we got to take away all these EXCUSES and GIT R DONE!Originally posted by WMCC Doug View PostI'm having serious second thoughts about a work day this Saturday. Even with a couple of heaters, it's gonna be very cold out in the garage. Besides, it makes sense to wait a bit longer before we start putting trim back on the car.

Agreed, Doug, you don't even need to be there for Justin do paint it. when we are ready, someone just need a key to the garage and Justin can do his thing. Even if you were 100% healthy, all you could do is sit and watch.Originally posted by WMCC AL View PostI'm seein' a pattern here. Yes, I want to see the car get done as much (or more) than anyone. But, this is supposed to be our hobby, in otherwords, fun. Working on the car when it's unhealthy hot, or freezing cold, does not sound like fun. That sounds more like a job. It will get done when the time is right.
We're shooting for Friday evening to give it another try. Who's comng to help?RIP Doug,You will always be remembered

First of all, I would like to take blame for not coming over wednesday night to work on the car.....I emailed Doug to ask if it was okay that I not come over due to the heat. I feel bad for doing it and I apologize. You see, I have a physically demanding job not to mention I have to work all damn day in this heat....this week has been especailly tough...when i get home, I am bushed, drained and frankly don't feel like doing shit.
Sorry for the language but frankly this kinda pisses me off. I'll do my best to help Doug out with this project because I think the world of him. Doug was very kind and understanding when I made the suggestion of postponing the work until friday evening. Anybody else that has a problem with that is more than welcome to slide under the car and blast away until thier hearts content.sigpicTurbo Charged LS1/T56

Got some more blasting done tonight...the back half is almost done....just a few spots I want to touch up. We got the sandblaster tweaked in just perfect now so it's working great.
Hopefully I can get over there for a couple hours saturday to do some more blasting.sigpicTurbo Charged LS1/T56
