Just curious -- where did Mark say he WASN'T having the engine rebuilt or gone through?

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I'd didn't see that anywhere either.

well I think just looking at the motor it seems like it hasn't been touched in years. I hope fo his sake it has been gone through we should have all learned a valuable lesson from Brian already.

Mark, the GN's never had a 100,000 digit on the odometer, so you could be taking a stab in the dark as to whether it's 47,000 or 147,000.

Do you have absolute proof that it's 47,000 miles???

Car is looking good, but I'm with these guys do you really want to take a big chance of just sticking the motor back in with out having it checked? not trying to rain on your parade but i would hate to see you go through all of that work only to find out later something is majorly wrong with it, just my opinion.

                  Keep up the progress

i appreciate your concern guys, i really do. ok i went the the Secretary of State, and Carfax. its a 1986 Buick Regal Grand National, the odometer didnt roll over, the cars legit, i even matched the numbers on the trans and motor. The engine was looked over (we pulled off the heads) the motor looks damn near brand new, the reason the motor looks old is because, like the car, it all needs a good scrubbin'. like i said guys, i appreciate your concern, but if something goes wrong, he will be hearing a ear full from me, i trust this guy. even in the time ive been at the shop hes done alot of cool things for people, like he ate 1500 dollars in labor becuase a woman in her 20s with a child couldnt afford it, and he still gave her her car back with the repairs done. Its rare to find people like that these days.

man you could have scrubbed the engine before you put it in lol its alot easier.

and i 100% agree that you should have at least gone through the engine but sometimes, rare tho, you can have a dirty old engine thats fine. so if it all works out more power too you but IMO i would have went thru it

Did he atleast check the main bearings? Mine only had "63000" on it but we all know how that went.
