          • Whew, my boys helped me out
            Thanks guys!

finished the rest of the motor tear down so it can goto the engine shop Monday.
Removed the motor mounts, disconnected the power stearing pump and removed the center caps off Red's wheels.

Tomorrow the K-Memeber will come out and parts cleaned that go back on.

Red has about 30 more pics that I just sent her

            • Awesome progress Kyle! That intake manifold looks like it's been leaking oil for a LONG time...lol.....that's the one thing I HATE about old school SBC's...they always develop a leak there over time no matter what you do.

              • Ya, the manifold had a small leak but the crank seal in the timing cover was the worst.

                  • looks like you caught the car at a perfect time for a teardown. How did that thing hold oil between oil changes? its alllll over the place! Can't wait to see this all once its cleaned up an new stuff goes on, with all those miles I bet you would be blown away by simply having a brand new stock motor put in. However with all these mods your reallllly gonna love it.

                        • Wow, your old bearings look great for having that many miles on them. I've seen bearing look way worse than that with less than 10K miles on them.

Thats not a bad idea about the engine hoist! Maybe I will have to take a pic to demonstrate the proper engine detailing technique using one of those...
