The bottom of the false floor is touching the carpet of the real floor panel.
if you look at the first pic, you will see the the top of the sub box is flush with the floor, and I used a 1/2" board for the full surface. It looks so much cleaner!

I see what you mean, I was actually thinking about builing mine up a little and setting the amp down into and running the wire underneath like you did. Either way it looks great, so how does it sound?
