haha, I was wondering if I should do that or not, but it's a little late now, eh? lol The exhaust that Pace sold me was pre-welded with the square tips, so the slash cut wouldn't look right on the rear of the car, so I just went with the stock tips. As for whats next, I don't really know, kinda just getting the parts as they come.

Lol, thanks, I would imagine that the skinnys wouldn't like taking corners to much. Anyone know how I recalibrate my speedometer after the gear swap? I tried to do calculations on how far off it will be, and 3.73 is 9% higher than 3.42 so does that mean that whatever speed I see on my speedometer I knock 9% off of that?

Well, got the exhaust cleaned up the rest of the way. Hopefully I'll remember to take a few more pics tomorrow after I get out of work, maybe even get a coat of paint on it. I am kinda thinking about shutting the furnace off and painting it in the basement, lol. I don't think that the paint will stick on too well bieng this cold.
Also, found something that looked really interesting today. There is a process that they call mikroniting, that is supposed to make the ring and pinion A LOT stronger, and has less friction.

Anyone heard of this before? Is it for real or just a gimmick? They compare it to shot peening, but say it is MUCH better. I'm really thinking about doing my ring and pinion, and even throwing around the idea of taking apart my torsen and doing that as well.Last edited by my95z28; October 25th, 2008, 11:23 PM.

Mikronite is an interestng process for surface treatment. I work in the shotpeen world so it's hard for me to invision how they get deep compressive residual stress into the metal with such a small media. But appearently they do. The surface finish between the two process is quite different to, but that is a by-product of the media size.sigpicTurbo Charged LS1/T56
