  • I'm going to be one person out of many that goes against the grain here

I have run almost every plug on the market on my car and the ones that have given me the best results are the NGK plugs.

B, I would keep your over the valve cover wires!
You will have a heck of a time trying to keep the wires off the headers if you don't.
The stockers work on the factory manifolds because they go up and curve down in the back leaving the bottom side open to run wires.
You are now going to be running LT's and all your pipes run down the side and close to the block.

    Don't cheep out now!

And Joel, I would be freaking out if my oil filter is below my K-member
One deep pot hole and your toast!!!

BTW, I have run Fram filters and I have had no issues at all with them colapsing.
And no I don't use a wrench, less likely to do any damage.
If I need a wrench to get it off the I will.

    Wix filters are good too

    • don't think I've ever even seen a wix filter before?

Wires should be here tomorrow according to the guy that shipped them, I might buy the AC Delcos if they're cheap and see how they work with the mufflers. If they don't work well with the mufflers then I always have the OTVC to put on when those arrive. But, that said, it's really not a matter of cheaping out, it's a matter of timing and whether or not I like how the OTVC wires look. If I decide not to go OTVC I can always use the OTVC set and route them normally knowing that I have tons of slack if needed.

This makes me nervous about you doing an engine build. Your MUFFLER is at the back of your car and should not "work" with your spark plug wires. I'm hoping you just mistyped and meant headers lol.

Otherwise, everything is lookin good Brian, this will be an exciting weekend for ya

            • Just don't get in too big of a hurry B.

You have one sweet swap going on!
They are no respecter of time.

If you didn't get to start the car till Sunday you will be ahead by a mile.

I have rushed things on my own car and ended up costing me in the long run.

Your OTVC's are easier to put on with your motor out than with it in, trust me!

                        • I've also heard horror FRAM stories. I always just use AC Delco. I also agree with i think kyle said it...joel, holy crap! i would be scared too about the oil filter hanging down below the k-member! lolol. however I've never really heard of using a taller filter, is it really better if you can? also, brian, to clarify, did you order red wires? and these wires were designed to go around the valve covers? and if you run stock, they will go over the top of the valve covers?

I believe I'm getting red wires. I forgot to specify and when I remembered and sent him a PM about the color he said he didn't think he made them yet so I should be getting red. I ordered it from the guy on LS1Tech that custom makes the wires to order.

The wires I ordered are designed for over the top of the valve cover. Stock wires go around the block and around the exhaust manifold into the spark plugs.
