  • You couldn't even get the nut on...I don't think at least...if you could, then you coulda torqued it down, but I don't know, I wasn't installing...

the problem was when you got it all asmbled there was no bolt length left to get nut on. we fought it different ways for and hour then said f... it whenm and got longer bolts. took 5 minuite to then install.

tried for an hour? geez lol, From the looks of that picture it looks like you could easily get it to thread on, but it must just be the angle? I don't know why a company that makes car specific parts wouldnt have the correct size.

We're going to change the shocks out once the car is on the ground - we don't feel comfortable crawling into the car to remove the bolts for the shocks when we don't have an engine in the car and are unsure of where the center of balance is. Once we get the car back on the ground, then we'll climb in and unbolt the bolts on the shock and do the swap on that.

There's absolutely no way it would work. When the endlinks were packaged with just the bushings and the nut (before ya take it apart and put it on, I mean) there was less than a quarter of an inch of play. The thickness of the sway bar was thicker than the amount of length of bolt was left over for the bushings - and that's not including the thickness of the bracket to the body. If we could have gotten the nut on the threads at all then we could've torqued it down but when we went to bolt it up there was no bolt sticking out from the bushing to get the nut on.

Yeah, we were stunned. Something just didn't seem right at all. I went to Murrays and got a Moog kit for $5 per side and the bolt was 2" longer than the Energy Suspension bolt.

                  • You guys do know to torque the Swaybar endlinks just till the bushings start to bulge.
Also did you remember to set the spring orientation with the lower pig tails pointed towards the front.

                    BTW everthing looks good.

                          • Today B had to work, so I finished the rear end panhard bar, break connections etc. Done with rear end. Got the new power steering hoses put them on, so waiting on transmission and spark plug wires. Should have those all by Tuesday. So expect at this point will have engine ready by thurday to put in car and get connected. So at this point looking to fire up friday nite or sat. which ever works for Steve.

                              • Yeah, admittedly due to timing, our first fire up will probably be with Steve when/if he comes over on Friday to flash the PCM. He works off I-94 and Harper so it'd be a lot easier for him to stop on his way home than force him into driving all the way back down on Saturday to flash the PCM. All depends on when we get the connections all made for the whole engine. Steve said he can flash once we get the electrical connections made so he could flash the PCM on Friday while we finish up the hose connections and all that type of stuff on Saturday. But, regardless, we'll still have a party on Saturday to celebrate the vehicle being finished!
