  • Not much to report other than I completed my NA tuning on Saturday and my barn was officially approved by the township yesterday. I drove the car to work yesterday and it ran great but my notchy T56 was driving me crazy so last night I finally decided to install my Tick master (I’ve had it for over a year). It wasn’t as hard to install as everyone says but I couldn’t find any brake fluid at my house last night so it still needs to be bled…hoping to finish that tonight so I can enjoy the car for awhile before tearing it down again.

    • You'll like the Tick master - It's nice to be able to just bump the clutch @ wot and shift!

It is NICE! It will take some getting used to the new engagement point, etc but the shifting has been dramatically improved! My car still takes a little "experience" to drive but I think most of that is due to the driveline slop from the locker. Once you figure it out the trans shifts very smoothly

I only wish I would have done this swap earlier...I haven't been able to hit gears this hard in a long time.

            • I finally got back on the project and made some good progress on Saturday. I started by removing the front bumper, A/C, alternator, stock exhaust, sway bar, etc in order to make room for the crossover. Next I worked on getting the passenger side truck manifold to fit by massaging the k-member. Once I was happy with that I worked on bending the power steering lines so the driver side manifold would fit. I moved them as far as I dare but I am not happy with the clearance so I ordered up the Modular Turbo power steering line relocation kit. I will get pictures of it once it’s installed.

Once both manifolds were fitting the rest was easy. The crossover fit perfectly so I installed and clocked the turbo. The next step was installing the Burkhart front bumper support and intercooler. After that I test fit the cold side pipes and once again everything fit great.

On Sunday I didn’t have much time but I sandblasted / painted the manifolds and installed my IAT sensor in the pipe feeding the throttle body. I placed the IAT under the fuse box to keep the high engine bay temps from heat soaking the sensor and causing issues on hot starts (lesson learned from my 2 Bar N/A tuning).

              On to the pictures:

              Crossover assembled outside the car:

              A/C removed (official "racecar" status):

              Crossover installed:

              Test fitting turbo:

              Burkhart bumper support:

              Intercooler installed:

              First cold pipe installed:

              Rest of cold pipes installed:

Next steps include relocating the alternator and dropping the oil pan to install the drain fitting.

                • More progress this week. I coated the manifolds with high temp paint, installed my IAT sensor, installed my Derale fans (still need to be wired), re-wired my alternator (no pics), installed the BMR rad support, and drilled/tapped my oil pan.

For anyone debating whether to drill the pan in the car or dropping the oil pan I highly recommend dropping the pan. I had it dropped, drilled, tapped, cleaned, and re-installed in less than 3 hours. It was very easy with everything out of the way and I dont know how else you could ever get all the shavings out. I left the shocks attached and slightly lowered the k-member and the pan came right out (just make sure you unhook the clips holding the brake lines to the k-member).

I have a 90 for the drain to enter the pan but I just installed this for now to keep the dust out of the pan.

It would probably work with some slight mods

Thanks. Here's a link to the Lingenfelter part. I purchased it from the classifieds on tech (brand new, never used) for $40

Thanks Jonny! Once I get the parts from you and I get my new p/s lines I should be able to wrap this up quickly.
