It's just as hard to take it out the top as it is to take it out the bottom, so a lot of people choose to take the motor out the bottom.

I have taken them out the top and bottom.. OUt the bottom is 100X easier and faster.
Can get one out the bottom in about 1.5 hours without opening the A/C or power steering.. The brakes do get opened though.
I will never do another out the top.
