  • Found Procharger deal, opinions?

Found a decent deal on a Procharger, looking to put it on my new 96 WS6. Opinions? I've read lots a conflicting information from other site "experts," looking for real advice before I buy. Thanks.

    Brian.

What kinda procharger? Im guessing a D1 or soemthing of that sort because thats usually what goes on. Ive done alot of research on them along with turbos just talking to LS1Tech guys, people on here and shops. Ive come to find that it is mostly preference. While at first I liked the procharger my mind slowly changed to like Turbos. Seems from what I hear they are a better application for the T/A. But thats just my .02

Prochargers are great and make very proven power, most say they are the best on the market and I agree I'd say go for it. If its a P600 don't expect to make real great power, they are usually cheap and can't push a lot of boost.

Uh, can't say about the intercoolers, but he I offered $1500 for the setup, injectors, and there was something else, can't rememeber exactly. What's a new one cost?

well a new kit is many thousands of dollars, it's pretty much worth it. I bought mine used, with a decent base tune too (But i'm LS1)...

1500 is pretty cheap, make sure you get EVERYTHING, like the fan, brackets, etc, this made for a 6 hour install, then another 6 hours shootin the shits, drinkin beer and putting in plugs and injectors.

              Any more Q's just ask

The other thing I couldn't remember was a Torque arm. The kit is currently on his LT1 car, so as long as he pulls everything off of it, I should be ok think. Inter coolers can be had from eBay, my favorite store.

Yeah its a deal either way but my guess is its a P600 kit with new fans and I don't think its intercooled because you normally only run like 5.5psi, it'll still make decent power though.

Powerdyne kits are much cheaper and they definatly don't make big power so I guess its all up to you. What are your goals for the car?

Right now just to get it running. I think I will dump the SC for now and get it running, swap wheels, fix the paint and enjoy for the year. I just thought this was a deal on a SC and was gonna jump on it. Think I'll do more research. Experience has taught me that you get what you pay for.

Holy crap, is that how the engines come out of these things? I am really old school and that picture looks like a nightmare to me.
