hey guys some of you know i busted a piston on my new motor... well i got a deal on some SRP forged blower/nitrous pistons and 6 inch eagle forged rods... so im gonna be looking for a small blower a 144 142 something single carb soon roots blower... or something like a procharger... i would rather have a roots seem to be cheeper and would look nice under the cowl... first off does anyone know if you can use a carb plate nitrous system ontop a blower.. ive seen the blower plates which go under the carb adapter to evenly shoot it throughout the blower... but never seen anything for or agenst it to use a standard carb plate shot... im kinda worried about the temp change and warp... it says its fine but with the drastic change of temps over 200 to below 100 in a few seconds dont want to shoot chunks of metal into the engine...

im gonna be looking for the blower and a blower cam... so keep your eyes peeled for me..

not a bad deal for 400 bucks shipped would have cost me 100 bucks just for the rings about 250 rods and the pistons are pretty pricey too... but these will shoot my compression way down from 10.1 down to 8.5.1 so im gonna loose a bit of power gonna need some boost to bring it back up...

i like the idea of belt driven over turbo... just swap a pulley to change the boost... because a nice turbo setup with a boost controller would cost 3 times as much... i wont get as much top end power but with the right boost setting i could rip the car in half with the low end TQ..lol the B&M or the small weiland push anywhere from 6-9 usually with stock pulley although they top out quick i dont think i would need much more than 10psi with spray... i would only up it that high at the track anyway..

well damn that fell through called the guy this morning and he sold them on me... but i lucked out and found another set of forged flat top 2 relief pistons with eagle 5.85 rods... aparently this use to be a big mod back in the day using old diesel rods before the aftermarket ones were popular.. so my mech found a set of these pistons and rods from an abandond 383 project so im still good paid 150 bucks for them less then my old pistons alone and already pressed on the rods ready to drop in save me 75 bucks and a day at the machine shop... and still giving me a longer rod just loose a little bit of compression 9.5.1 but with my thinner head gaskets i shouldnt loose much... and saved 250 bucks to toss somewere else... oh well i could still add boost just not crazy amounts... still keep your eyes out for a small roots blower for me ill order new pistons if i can find one...

Use that $250 to relocate your guages to your A-pillar instead of under the dash so you'll stop hitting your leg on them.

Forgot to add there was a guy at the track on Saturday that had a blown 3rd gen running low 12s seemed like a stout setup but I didn't get details.

they acctually dont hit my leg, i plan on tossing them into the dash... i dont like anything sticking out noticable looking like anything is there... but now that i had to get a cowl i guess it doesnt matter... but i think i am going to order all my small pro comp gauges and start working them into the dash... its the speedo and tach thats going to cost the bundle... having a correct speedo would be awsome... up to 55 its pretty accurate after that the needle just pretty much shoots all the way over and bottoms out on me...

I was looking at some digital gauges for mine. Maybe you might want to look that way too.

not sure... right now i just want to convert all the old mech gauges over to electronic for the most part... a wire instead of a hard wire line is alot easier to clean up and hide
