so what ive always heard about our ls1 engines is that its safe to do a 100-150 shot of wet nitrous. my question is, what exactly is limiting that. what would i have to improve to do a higher shot. some where i got the idea it was just a fuel pump. any body know?

eventualy the strength of the bottem end and pistons start to fade with spray. would you put a blower on a car and get a 200 hp gain and leave stock pistons in? you could get away with it but you could not. also yes need more fuel.sigpic

a lot of guys drive bone stock cars with 200 shots that last years, its all in the tune and how many precautions you take. I plan on a 150 shot in a year or so and I'm confident it'll last quite a while that way.Doing less with more

ok well i lied to you guys, im really thinking of a 125 or 150 shot, but just what to go over board on the safety precautions. so i was going the get a 225 walbro fuel pump, i was hoping i didnt have to do the injectors. but like i said i want to be overly safe. and its going on the car in my sig.Chris

Yup a guy over on tech that goes by the name trmin8r(maybe you have seen his videos) Sprayed a 200 shot on a stock bottom end car making over 600RWHP for 2 years before it blew up. And that was going threw 1-2 bottles every weekend. If you take all the safety precautions they can and will liveOriginally posted by DETROITMUSCLE View Posta lot of guys drive bone stock cars with 200 shots that last years, its all in the tune and how many precautions you take. well that makes me feel better because i was wondering about the samething. i wanted to spray a 150 shot a bottom end that has 127,*** miles on it but it passed a compression check and has a lot new internals.. what do u guys think?2000 Trans Am Ws.6 394rwhp/408rwtq 12.24@118 MPH

spraying over 150 should be a direct port. the ls intakes have horrible distribution. also 150 off of the rail is kinda iffy. aftermarket rails with a regulator up from helps, standalone is better. my car on a 100shot would loose 12psi of fuel pressure even with the hotwired racetronics. I said forget that and got a HSW standalone
unless the duty cycle of the injectors is very high now they aren't needed with a wet kit. the injectors don't add fuel.
You will need the safety stuff like a window switch, way to remove timing(or tune), wot switch ectLast edited by 1BADAIR; February 11th, 2009, 12:28 AM.

Mileage is just a number. If everything checked out ok then go ahead and spray the crap out of it.Originally posted by LYNEMUP2KWS6 View Postwell that makes me feel better because i was wondering about the samething. i wanted to spray a 150 shot a bottom end that has 127,*** miles on it but it passed a compression check and has a lot new internals.. what do u guys think?
I think my next Fbody is gonna be a stock internal car with a big rear end, big converter and big shot on it

Just save for a couple years Mike and when your done with college and can afford it do it right. By than I'll have a respectable enough car to race youOriginally posted by c0ncEpT View PostMileage is just a number. If everything checked out ok then go ahead and spray the crap out of it.

I agree completly with Larry, although your tuner should keep his eye on your fuel pressure that is the main concern, I would think with an in-tank 255 and a KB boost a pump you'd be fine but if your real concerned going stand alone should guarantee much less chance of failure and you can run straight up race gas in it as well.Doing less with more
