hey nick, If you want a v8 you should just sell your car and buy a lt1 4th gen. It would be much easier. U should do that unless you absolutely love your particular car.

I do love my car, I've already started the mods, and the color combo and everything is going to be absolutely killer! I'm relatively knowledgeable with an engine, and I have a donor car with all the wiring and everything. . . The swap doesn't intimidate me! lol

My suggestion outside of a V8 is to get a 3.8L 3800 Series II Supercharged. There are still low miles and a good base to staart modding from, and I'm told it's cheap to mod them. I know guys running 700+ HP in GTPs. Also 400+ HP they still get good gas mileage, but once you go over 500 HP you're ****ed on gas.

from gas mileage aspect. with my car....390 rwhp. i actually get just about the same, if not better than my parents completly stock WS6!
if i drive like a "normal person" i get 15-20 city...******* driving can get me as far down as 7mpg (lol...like during woodward "season" mostly haha) and i can usually get about 26 mpg highway

Yeah my mpg went down a bit after the stall and I don't really ever expect it to get better, you have to make sacrafices for power.

I get 23-24 on the highway, 18 with my foot in it all the time. I'm sure once I get the fuddle it will drop a lil, but what fun!!!!!!

Yeah I was actually surprised how much my gas seemed to drop after the stall, now I just drive a little more agressive to make up for it.

Do you have a lock up? You mean your mileage dropped right?

Yes I have lockup but I do lots of city driving so the mpg went down a bit. Its weird because the gas gauge seems fine when driving but each time I start it up it seems to drop a bit.

Just my 2 cents, i know its a little late but if you mod a v6 with a turbo or centrifical supercharger you still don't get the torque that wins races. You will be like those damn ricers not ever racing from a stop.

And another thing.....when I gun the motor, I want the whole world to think it's coming to an end.

Yep. That's why the V6 camaro was the "economy" model, lol. I realized that after driving mine for a few months. Only way to gain torque is by doing some seriously expensive, difficult, and time-consuming work to that V6. An engine swap is going to prove to be a better investment in the long run, that's why I'm going to go that route, eventually. Good luck with the build-up, let me know how it turns out for you!

Good news everyone I joined the Air Force yesterday and I will be leaving in mid june. That aside I have decided to rebuilt my V-6 and beef up the interior of the engine a little bit. I am on a budget so I am not looking to spend more than 1000 dollars on it. All the work will be done by a very skilled mechanical and labor is not going to cost me nothing. So 1000 dollars in parts. The question for you guys and gurls is what should I buy and where are the good deals. PS I plan on making it to the FBody spring Kick off in May so all of this has to be done by then.

Well if your keeping the V6 then start off with all the basic bolt-ons. Cold air intake, throttle body, full exhaust (including headers), underdrive pully, and some good tires.
