Okay, so I decided to try something new today, and I jumped on the wax wagon. . . I have always been told that it is bad for a car's paint, but I gave in, and bought my first can of TurtleWax today at AutoZone for $.99. I used it, and it was AMAZING! I'd never seen my car shine like that before! I didn't polish it first, like I should have, but I'm going to claybar, polish, and wax the hell out of it in a month or so. . . It shines up like a new penny! Here are a few pics for you guys. . .
Oh, and the camera kinda sucks, so it doesn't really do it justice. . . Ben and I want to claybar our cars soon, and I think that and a fresh polish and wax will really let her shine.

Yeah, I know. It was kinda bright, but not really enough to show any good results. . . Next time the weather is nice, I'll wax it up and take it to the park for some pictures. Then, it'll look pretty badass. What really sucks is that it started to rain about 5 hours after I waxed it, so it's gonna need to be washed again before Woodward. . .

I also use a few other Turtle Wax products. I use their original auto wax, I use the F21 Car Polish, and I use the Super Protectant stuff, it's really pretty good for keeping interior surfaces and tires shiny.

Well, the polish is really simple, as is the claybar, you just need to know that you have to knead the clay, or else the debris it picks up will scratch the hell out of the paint. I just saw a can of wax on the checkout counter, and I asked how much it was, and the guy said it was $.99, regularly $2.99. I had an extra buck, so I bought it, and I put on a coat this afternoon. I'll do another coat, maybe some polish first, and then I'll post some more pics tomorrow or Friday.

For waxes, I usually prefer Meguiar's too, but still: whatever works best for you is what matters. Truthfully, any good wax will provide the same good results, it's all in the prep work. Durability of wax is always an issue, but you'll probably notice a difference after it stops raining on how much water and dirt is left on your car, wax will help keep the surface slick and such, so rain beads and falls off your car, keeping it more clean than if it's sheeting and sitting on your car.

I might try Meguiars, but not until the Turtle Wax is gone. . . I noticed today how much cleaner my car looks, it was the shiniest car in the HS parking lot. . . And it was still raining when I showed up this morning! lol

Yay Mcguires! I use that and mother's. What a great combo!

Your car did look really good from what I saw last night. Hopefully I can check it out a little closer in the daylight. Also I had a wild idea for your paint. Have you ever thought about painting your t-tops orange? I'm picturing that your tops, posts, and spoiler all go orange. That way you can put those wicked black stripes over, still use your tops, plus it would look very consistent like a hard top. Plus it would set your car apart, I have never seen a maro with painted ttops. I think it would look sexy, like your mom! J/k. I got the idea from all these guys that want to install ttops on a hardtop. It would look like a custom targa top man! Think about it. I tried to paintshop it, but I cant get the coloring right. Maybe someone else can photshop it!.

                              Ouch...lol.

On another note, Meguiar's is awesome stuff! But this is coming from experience with a 'Vette, which could be totally different than an f-body as far as wax and stuff goes.
