I just added some mid-length pacesetters to my 1995 LT1 with no other mods, and it sounds terrible. I know flowmasters are famous for having lots of drone sound but it is so bad now with the headers. Maybe sounds a little good above 4,000 rpm but other than that its bad. Anybody else experience this?

I put a power stick muffler in the I pipe and it cut drone way down. Then removed tips and put turn downs and almost gone. Have heard that putting a flowmaster Merge in your y pipe helps also. When in doubt, Whip it out !

good luck. BTW, Hooker just came out with a nice 2.5" true dual that goes to the back of the car. made to work with their shorties, but could be adapted easily to others. You won't have drone with this. Thinking seriously about ripping my exhaust off and going with this. Think it sells in the $750 range. When in doubt, Whip it out !

This is the way to go. I've used a Magnaflow bullet in the I-pipe before and it helps a ton to really mellow out the sound of the exhaust.Originally posted by farmington View PostI put a power stick muffler in the I pipe and it cut drone way down. Longtubes into dumped flowmasters here. My car drones horribly inside and it has for 6 years now. It gets so many thumbs up and compliments on how awesome it sounds i just deal with it.
