I have the whole system. It's called the American Thunder system lol. Stock exhaust is 2.75in I pipe, and the muffler is 2.25in. I believe, but for a 97 z28. The Flowmaster has a 3in I pipe, and it reduces down to 2.5in at the muffler. 2.5 in, 2.5 out.
The muffler is just a 80series though. I got mine system for $200.

Yours would be $461. Damn that is not cheap.

Is there anywhere around us where I can go and buy a cat back system in a store or shop?
It seems like my only option is to order one and have it shipped to me than find a shop to put it on for me. I don't want to do it myself

In my experience, retailers like to markup big time.
Any exhaust shop will be able to put it on.
I ordered mine from Autoanything.com. They shipped pretty fast. I got it the next day.

Ask a few exhaust shops. You can find one to put the cat back on
When in doubt, Whip it out !

You should consider looking at flow charts also

IMO you definitely want no less than a 3" single. Granted my car isnt stock, but going from a single open 3" dump to 3" duals with mufflers gained me some noticeable power.

I had just a flowmaster muffler welded on my car less than a month after I bought the car brand new. I had them keep the stock tips, etc. The car stayed that way for 8 yrs until I put the turbo's on it back in 2007. Only issue I had was I had to upgrade the air intake lid to flow better. The car was leaning out with just the muffler. I guess it flowed better than the stock one. After the lid, all was well and never had any issues. It could drone a little on the highway depending on how fast you were going. That was usually my indicator that I was too close or over 80mph.

I just had the muffler welded on at a Muffler Man shop. I think I picked the muffler up used from someone on one of the boards. Hell, I am pretty sure I still have the flowmaster muffler/tips and whisper lid somewhere in my barn.... Might have to dig all that out and sell it.

Mine didn't get too loud until I got 1-7/8 longtubes. I really loved the sound of it stock too though!
