Im decieding weather to get painted long tube headers save $250 or ceramic headers for $500. What are the pros and cons what ones do you like in your cars.

I'd go with Ceramic. They're supposed to last longer, which in the long run makes up for the extra cost. If I was to do it over again I'd get ceramic instead of my painted. Ceramic look way better.

definitly spend the extra $ and get the ceramic. youll regret the painted when it peels off and starts to rust. cermaic looks great and stays looking great for a long time.

Longtubes ceramic or stainless is the way to go. Painted ones require too much work to keep them looking nice.

If your not about looks than go painted. They will never rust through so you wont have any problems. but if you have the cast get some coated. They still rust so don't be fooled but they will look better for WAY longer. No proformance differnce between the 2

What do you think of pacesetters. And the only benifet to the ceramic ones is look nice. They dont perform any better or do anything different. I heard you could grab a header tube 1minute after the car was shut off.

They do perform different, ceramic coated headers insulate heat better. This is especially helpful in such as applications as a turbocharged car.. where hotter exhaust has a higher velocity.

You are saying painted headers will never rust through????? Haha...that's a good one....you ever been around a car that has painted headers on for 10 years I replaced a set of headers on a silverado last summer that had holes the size of dimes in it from rust.....I broke the y-pipe off with my bare hands it was so rusted out.....also, there is a slight performance difference with coated headers as Matt said.

Ah, Texas speed, they're right by my hometown, I'll have to stop by there next time I go home! If it's coated for $379, that's a great deal, if you have the money, I'll jump on it.
