And this is why I stick to this side of the state. I was pulled over once a few weeks after I bought the car. Cop had me dead to rights, would of been guilty. He let me go with a warning. Have never been pulled over since(knock on wood). Cops don't even look at me, even with the windows rolled up.. Good luck dude, def sounds like they are screwing with you..

Take it to a local PD station and not the district court or have anyone sign off on it (police officer) doesnt have to be Brighton either.

Sounds like it wouldn't hurt to print off the actual MCL posted above and bring it to the officer you have sign off on it. You're doing his job for him, but if that's what it takes. If you still can't get someone to sign off then fight the ticket and provide all the information to the judge.

x2....half of them probably ride Harley's. Friggen bike night outside of town sounds like Sturgis on Thursday nights in the summer and can be heard for miles! Not a cop in sight....

Hell, Megan and I got pulled over in the Cavalier today by a pair of State Troopers in a Charger. Granted, they likely noticed the distinct lack of muffler...but still not sure why they asked for my license, when I was in the passenger seat...

They let us go, since I told them it was on order. And they also seemed to be more interested in what movie we were going to see than the exhaust.

I can see a hand full of people on here dont like cops, anyway, do a ride along and you can learn a lot. Just because your not driving doesnt mean they cant ask for an id. They are just doing their jobs.

as far as the fix it ticket, if they dont sign it off, why not just pay for it and be on your way ? You time alone is probably worth more then what 75 bucks not including fuel either. If you dont want it just make a court date. Another reason to have a few cop buddies, they always sign "fit it" tickets and you always buy them a cold one next time your out

John I just confirmed with the PD here at work, take it somewhere else and have them sign off on the ticket. Chances are you will get someone more level headed at a local PD department then a court house.

It is a $200 ticket according to the officer I spoke with at the courthouse. I have a co-worker who is having his dad help me out tomorrow. Everything should be okay. I hate the "just pay it" idea. I make less then $10 an hour, work full time, go to school full time. I have a lot better ways to spend money.

Last time I had a "fix it" ticket for window tint I just removed the tint and found a cop inside a local gas station and he came out and looked at the car and signed off on the ticket.

Just be on the look out for an officer and ask him to sign off on it. (like others have said)
