Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

I'm picking up header bolts from work tonight for my header install this weekend. I believe the size is 3/8x1. Should I use grade 2 stainless, grade 5, or grade 8? Can I use lock washers? Will they fit? Anti seize probably a good idea??

Percy's lockers. never had a single one loosen up on me in 7 years now.
Those are what I was considering, but $50 for a set of bolts seems a but much.
I'm trying to find the difference between header bolts and standard bolts with no luck. Thought I could just pick up some bulk bolts and lock washers and now I'm starting to think not.
Anyone know the size to the flange bolts as well? I might as well replace those while I'm at it.

Keep in mind most header bolts have a smaller head on them. Most normal bolts aren't going to have a small head and make it a pain with clearance issues. Just buy a cheap header bolt kit. No matter what you are going to have to snug them up every now and then.

Get real header bolts. The Spectre brand bolts from Advanced/Autozone are grade 8, come with a tool (useless in LT1's) and also have a regular head design. Had I not folded the gasket over we would have had mine in, in 30 min.
the bolt hole is 3/8-16.
A normal 3/8 hex bolt has a 9/16 head
Header bolts have a smaller head for additional clearance, they are usually 3/8s or 7/16
Ill be chasing your ls with some real go fast parts here shortly. Just going back and forth between heads/cam or nitrous. Most likely going to be heads/cam.

Just checked these out, those are what I'm going to use. May start pulling the stockers tonight since I have the night off. Just hoping I can have this done pretty quick as my car is my daily driver.
