Megasquirt II ECM

Does anyone have any experience with this ECM kit? You buy the PCB and assemble it yourself, or some people have pre-assembled ones. Its just an aftermarket ECM, and im wondering what advantages it has over a GM TPI ECM.

TPI MAF or TPI Speed Density ??? I don;t think its nearly as good as the stock PCM in most cases.

I have heard of quite a few people using it for their 3.4l turbo fbody build ups. Allows them to tune it since there is no 3.4 tuning out there. Most guys are happy with the setup from what I hear.

The car is '165 MAF car, however the megasquirt II has a built in MAP and runs speed density or alpha-n. The megasquirt would allow me to run a wideband O2 instead of a regular O2, as well as having a nicer tuning utility.

You could adapt a different 3.4L pcm to the car without to much effort.

My buddy rob (RobM) on here had MegaSquirt that he was planning on using for his Turbo G60 blocked Jetta....unfortionatly 2 trees in his yard fell on the car totalling it....

anywho. i know he has it and isn't using it.

You could do that. the EDIS-8 is a decent ignition system.

The only major hurdle is mounting the trigger wheel to the crank pulley.

I think it would be worth it though, to get the wasted spark ignition and do away with the dizzy.

We've gone as far as putting Opti guts in a regular dizzy and will be running a LTCC with COP on our gen1 sbc with 2 turbos. Hard to beat the LT1 pcm logic.
