Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

MAF should compensate. When I did my CAI on my 2012, they recommended disconnecting the battery for 30 seconds to allow the fuel trims to get reset. I didn't though... it just means it takes awhile longer for the computer to get the average right.
The problem is once you get so far in modifications its needed because the MAF will be out of calibration. Gregrob (LS1Tech) and I discussed this in a thread that when running a MAF it needs to be recalibrate with modifications. This is why companies sell two MAFs, one thats normal, and one that is tuned for CAI. Solomon also states that you must edit the MAF tables.

Put it this way, if you have a money tree a LT1 is a wood chipper!

a MAF is a MAF, they just measure flow. Adjustable MAF's allow a change to the the output voltage to trick the computer into thinking there is more or less air flow (usually more) to bump to a different cell on the fuel table. The best way to do this is in the fuel table itself so the MAF voltage doesn't max too soon and cause a lean WOT condition or reduce the resolution.
MAF systems can handle 10-15% change. Best way to check is to see where the long term trims are at.
