New Cam Time

  • Well i dropped my car off at Seans this morning before work. stopped by there after work, and they were still thrashing on that mustang that's up there (jeff and mike saw it....347 stroker hatch back with a T76 turbo and made 650hp!)

    so anyways. i ended up taking one of Seans other customers cars up to my work to clean up a little so it could be picked up and to kill some time!

    ended up just bullshitting and hang'n out up there most of the night with Sean, Rob and Ang! Finally strapped my car down and did a few pulls and messed with the tune some.

    The day of the dreamcruise i went up to Seans to get a "baseline" with my old setup and put down
    381hp and 341 tq

    The tune isn't completly done, my injectors were running out so i need some larger ones and possibly most likely a bigger pump to feed this big 'ol cam! also there are still some driveability things to smooth out with the car. but i'll take what i got for now with out any complaints....i made my "over 400 goal"

    ended up with this for my final pull tonight....(drumroll please......)

    421hp@6,453 RPM
    361tq@6,147 RPM

    Not too bad huh??? with some larger injectors it's good for a decent amount more too! But it's not too bad, picked up exactly 40HP with just the cam swap...and it wasn't like i went from stock to a big cam, i had that thunder racing cam in there before!

    Damn i love how it feels already!!

    • oh and i can't forget about the really cool part. Sean and Rob wrapped up that 347 turbo stang about an hour ago....Sean and i took it for the maiden voyage in a pretty large "loop"

      that mother ****er pulls like something i've never felt before....

      the street lamps on the side of M-59, when it came under boost, they literally turned to streaks, it felt like the cheesy scene from fast in the furious, but no shit....that is just retarded fast!!

              • Oh man the car sounds so much more bad ass! No more annoying valvetrain noises either! Thats preety impressive 40hp more to the wheels with just a bigger cam

                      • I talked to Larry and he said he just installed a racetronix plug and play kit in a couple cars including a 383 stroker and others running big power and has never had any problems with them. I ordered one from Thunder for $225 on sale, it should be here this week and then I'll be doing it trap door style so it should take a couple of hours. Then we'll see where my injectors are duty-wise.
