good deal! Coming together very well Matt. You can really jump on a job quick and get it done. I'd prolly still be attempting to pull the intake, haha. Nice jobsigpic

yeah sunday afternoon will mark the "1 week mark" from when i started...which isn't too bad considering i took a night or 2 off, and didn't do to much some nights....
I'm pumped most definatly...i just hope that it will run on the tune it has with this cam...cause if it doesn't....time to call 248-682-3840 for a tow!Originally posted by DETROITMUSCLELooks great Matt I really can't wait til you get it all back together again.

well now that my parents are back in town, no body "just stops by" anymore...so i have been able to get a good amount of work done....here is tonights progress....the AC compressor thing is on now. timing cover, and the heads are on. theyre not torqued down yet, but all the bolts are in and "snug" tomarrow morning i will torque them to spec and do the whole 90 degree, then 90 degree turn part.....i should have it running tomarrow night....it all depends on what time i wake up tomarrow afternoon....

my pushrods should still work, i didn't change anything on the heads and the base circle of the lobe is the same as stock, so nothing is being changed in the height of the valve train....and yeah i got all new head bolts and GM MLS head gaskets. i get everything at cost from my buddy!
i can't wait to hear the ***** lope!1998 Camaro SS Bullseye Turbo

OK well i have come to this little conclusion.....and it has found much truth in this cam swap....
Hope for the best and expect the worst, Plan on Nothing going as planned, and expect to spend twice as much as you thought.....
i had planned on being done today, but i forgot when i took my heads off my first intake valve on my drivers side head was all peened over and smashed....looked like it wasnt hardened (i seem to have a thing for parts not hardened or something
)
so last night i had the heads "on" but not tight or anything...just had everything snugged down. but i called my "parts" guy...Danny Kellermayer who runs my buddys race team. well he said to bring him the heads and he would look em over. (i kinda wanted new valves anyways cause he said the patriot ones sucked and he found the ferrea ones were getting better flow) so he "warrantied" my valves for me. took him about 20 minutes to dis-assemble my heads (pneumatic spring compressors are the shit!!) we 3 angle lapped all the valves and threw the Ferrea valves in!!!
along with blueprinting the heads and testing all the valve springs while we were at it!!!
then somehow we started talking about loc-tite for some reason...well he is sponsored by loc-tite and gave me the HUGE bottles of every different type of Loc-Tite out there! cause he said he cant use enough of it...and sent me on my way with fresh heads and about 5 bottles of loc-tite and a HUGE bottle of Loc-tites Anti-Seize!!!
I almost felt guilty. he wouldnt take any money for everything and said he would just send my valves back to patriot for me and that he wouldnt take any $$ for the bad ass ferrea valves he just put in my heads!!!
so after i got home. the heads are now on all the way and torqued and everything. Radiator is in. water pump and power steering pump are on! and the push rods and rockers are in! (oh and he gave me a replacement rocker for the one that had smashed the one valve all up)
here the pics from todays progress...should be buttoned up tomarrow..i just need to go get some new plugs and one of those fancy Goodyear GatorBack belts! and im good to go!!! (sorry for the shitty pics...they all came out blurry i think cause of it being night time and i had my work lights on and stuff......)
