Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

haha LS7 is outta the question....those a an ass load of cash...i'm about to go up and talk to sean...show him my thunder cam and see if he knows what cause it...as it was messed up. i wouldn't be suprised if my car has lost power from how jagged the cam is.
yeah the new cam i got was just a BIG NA/spray cam...but it's actually a decent blower cam as it has some unusual characteristics that are "secret"
but i bought it just for a "time being" cure for the speed itch....i'm going to keep it as is just forge it i think....but i'm about to go do some price shopping...be back later
I'm really in all actuality not too upset about this happening....like i said at the beginning of this...nothing goes as planned...so here i go again.....
Just looked at the Cam. Looks like it wasn't hardened properly. I say a quick disection of the lowerend pull a main cap and a rod bearing or 2 and have a look see isn;t a bad idea. Most likely there is nothing to worry about. The flaking should be trapped in the oil filter and the engine has good solid oil pressure.
Also talked to thunder racing they said they are looking into helping out with a set of lifters and a replacement cam obviously to replace the defective one. All in all i don't think this is to big a problem.
word....previous owner put it in...thanks a shit load sean for everything today!
i can't seem to get the pan off and i have the motor pulled up as high as it will get. maybe i can convince sean to come over and drink some beer and take my money for some help tomarrow
if i can't get it out...the K-member will get dropped tomarrow....i realized also i had the pan off but not out....there's a "scatter shield" or whatever under the crank....and that's where the lifters are chill'n on....
so as of now...the motor is ripped down to just the block pretty much...no accessories anymore....no heads....no nothing.....sean i'll give ya a call tomarrow or stop by after work to get some more "opinions"
Hey matt, sorry to hear your misfortunes!!...a piece of advice....drop the K-member. At the stage you are at, it'll be really easy to do, and when everything is all ready to be put back in, you can assemble the entire engine with accessories/headers ect.. on the cradle and then roll it back under the car and plug the harness back in. Of course thats assuming you're getting a long block. It'll be a 1.5 day job doing it alone as you have to bleed the brakes and remove/replace the drivetrain yourself.
Thats what I did when I got my 427 on Saturday. Started working alone yesterday and I just finished getting it in tonight and all I gotta do tomorrow is get a oil filter and pour the oil. I'm praying all works out well =D
oh matt i found something for you if your looking at a new motor, theres a ls1 in the parts and repairables section in michigan auto and rv. Comes with everything including trans which is a 4l60e and i realize you would have no use for it but you could always turn around and sell er. it says 390 miles on both, might have been a misprint though. But just letting you know. I think it waa 3,250 for both. Oh and its in Lapeer.
I've been helping Matt with this project (and a few of the past ones). And all I can say is I don't recomend the brake line method for holding the lifters haha.. Anyways I took my engine hoist over there last night so lower the k-member and engine shouldn't be all to bad. Plus we've torn it down to just a block with a rotating assembly in it at this point.

Hey whats going on Rob? I didn't know you were on here, ill probably see you guys later
Might not be bad to have an extra one to build up aye?
Sorry to hear about all the work you have to do, Matt, but damn it will be nice when it's done. Since you love spending money on your engine so much, why not throw some my way and build me a 350 block?!
