yeah 496 on a dynojet a few days later, but his cats got so hot he melted his race carpet thru the floor board and melted his fuel pump lead wire. Paul is a good guy! we should get him on here...

my point being though, if you can put down 400 without having to do a 402 with all that jazz, then it's pretty sweet!

it'll be up there probably tuesday or wednesday...whenever i get it done really. I need to go find some new head gaskets (MLS ones) and some new head bolts.

the guy that prep's my buddy's vette racecar has a barn with pretty much an entire parts inventory. he could damn near build an entire corvette with all the parts he has! so i'm gonna go out to his house / barn / machine shop / shop and get what i need....i should have the cam out later, and possibly the new one in...

i forget what "THE BOX" corvette made up at cars

well i am ****ed....time for a forged motor...ripped the thunder cam out...i've never seen wear on a cam...and the thunder cam was like all rough and ripped up....definatly ****ed up.....so i decided to pull the lifters to see what's up with them...well even though i had brake line in there to "hold them up" one made it through the cracks and down to the pan **** **** **** **** **** **** **** ME IN THE BUM!!!! so i guess i'll pull the motor out to fish 'em out...and since it's out...i'm gonna talk to my buddy's car guy and get the hook up on some forged insides since it'll be out.

i'm probably going to keep it 347 because of the cost... but i'll have to make some phone calls tomarrow....still have no batteries for the camera or else i'de post a pic of my thunder cam...it was whacked up looking!!

so....here we go...time to drink a lot of beer right now and not think about the journey i'm about to embark on with this motor! :thumbsdo:

yea i was around your area so i drove down Greer to see if you were there, all i seen was the T/A in the driveway, and all i can say is that car looks much more beautiful in person!!!

damn man. i dont no if that sucks or is good. Upgrading is always good but spending money isnt, lol. I say just save your cash and get the motor you want. Hell, go for something big that would shake the ground. Another thought..... call up some of the sponsors on tech for deal on forged shortblocks... You can get a forged 347 for in the 2's... which would be about the price for all the parts... but its already installed. A 383 stroker would shake pretty good, a 408 iron would shake better . Good luck, sorry for the miphap but i know you'll make the car better then it was! Keep me posted!

I agree like everyone else said save the cash now and go big I say forged low compression 408 for the turbo and set it all up for boost instead of Sean's cam, which sounds like a N/A or spray cam to me. Sorry to hear about shit going wrong but think of how freakin bad ass it'll be with more cubes and boost.

low comp 408 for a turbo would be BAD A, but def an ess load of loot. I say go 408 with huge cam and go for 500 rwhp threw a mustang dyno ALL MOTOR, its up to you tho

I just mentioned it because he was going to go turbo I thought. There is a low comp 347 on tech right now for 2K which would be nice or Texas Speed sells a forged 408 shortblock for like 3500 or so.
