I deleted mine. I simply took it off, pluged the TB, and tucked the vent from the tank into the fuel harness to keep it out of site. They say that you will get a gassy smell from doing this, but I did not. Look up my started threads and i did one on my engine detailing that should show pics of the pass side of my intake. I deleted EGR, AIR, AIR pump, all hoses, evap, and blocked them off. And ive never had a problem filling the tank. Any more info on how this effects filling Larry. Eric L

not sure about lt1's but ls1s wont fill without it.
when filling the tank the air has to go someplace. the canister. if the canister cant vent then you will have trouble filling.
all systems are sealed and not suppose to vent outside now. all vapors must be used. This is also the reason new cars have the check gas cap lights.
When it started being monitored we had 10 or more cars a day come in the shop for mass evap leak codes cause they left the cap loose. due to warranty costs and dealer complaints the check cap light was installed.

I got rid of the solenoid, and put a breather on the line up front, left everything else intact. tuned the evap light out. No problems here.

Yeah, I dont think the LT1s are as sensitive to that Larry. Mine vents to atmosphere, and allbeit not EMISSIONS legal, it works fine. Eric L
