  • New exhaust Setup - 4" FM Merge, 4" Cutout, 4" DMH

Well I finally gathered up the money to change up my exhaust. I had the shop put in a 3"-4" Flowmaster merge, 4" cutout y-pipe, 4" DMH electric cutout, 4" turndown, 4"-3" reducer to back to the SLP Dual/Dual. I previously had a v-band clamp installed right before the over the axle pipe for easy removal so I had the shop band clamp the merge to the y-pipe so I can just drop the i-pipe section out for easy removal. I also put lapped band clamps where the headers meet the y-pipe. He also found some of my rattles and fixed them for me. I didn't really lose much ground clearance from before, not that I really had any with the eibach springs, haha! But if anybody needs any exhaust work around the Battle Creek I recommend this guy, he had it done in about 3.5 hours.

My car sounds like a COMPLETELY different car though. The rasp is pretty much none existent and the car is a little quieter with the cutout closed. But with it open boy does is sound bad ass! It's fun driving with it open and then closing it because my car doesn't even sound like it's running comparatively. Kyle can vouch for me on this since he rode with me last night. This is probably one of the best mods I have ever had done! Here's some pictures and I get a video up when it stops raining today. (Sorry for the crappy cell pics, it was the only camera I had with me at the shop.)

Oh the engine loves it! It's like a whole new car with the cutout open. It pulls so much harder all the to 6800 rpms! It feels like I gain about 15+ rwhp/rwtq when it's open.

Here is a video. The camera I used was just a point and shoot so the sound isn't the best qaulity. I couldn't find the video camera. I'll get a better video tomorrow with the real camera.

Looks and sounds great David! This is the best and only way to go for a street car IMO.

I will vouch, this thing is AWESOME. Feels like it pulls loads harder, my butt dyno says at least 15rwhp. Its amazing how insanely loud it is with the cutout open, then cutout closed, you LITERALLY can't hear the car anymore. After riding in this, I've decided my next mod needs to be an electric cutout. Not to mention, it lopes SOO much harder through the cutout.

What did yours make for power Jeff? I can't remember for the life of me. Seems like it was right around Davids 450.
