I had a little bit of exhaust work done today. I got a new Vortex muffler with new pencil tips. It gave it more of a raspy sound, but not as deep and hollow as I wished. But anyway, I seem to think that it put a slight damper on my torque. Is this possible? I can tell a improvement with the horses, but it just dont like to leave the line like before. Is this normal, or am I imagining it all? Is it the change in back pressure that is causing this? What should I expect for performance? Wish I would have just bought Z-Spots set up now....
It also seems like I shift quicker than before...

less back pressure often equals a loss in torque.
when i open my cutout i seem to lose torque down in like 2000 rpms or less, but gain hp up top at 3500+ rpms.-Joel

That is what I thought also, but wanted to be sure...Will I possibly gain a better time at the track though?Originally posted by JoeliusZ28less back pressure often equals a loss in torque.
