  • No More Glasspacks!!!

So yesterday, after a long afternoon of detailing our cars, Ben and I cruised out to Tecumseh to meet up with a fellow F-Body owner from another board, and I picked up my "new" muffler. . . A Flowmaster dual-turndown Delta 80 muffler. . . I got it installed today, and my car is now loud enough to set off Ben's car alarm from 2 parking spaces away. . . I love flowmasters! I know, I should have gotten something different, but when you can get a $90 muffler for $20, you can't pass up that deal! It is so sweet, and the Glasspack-ey sound is gone! I'll get some pics after I throw on some sweet chrome tips and some sound clips once I get my hands on a miniDV camcorder and a link cable for my PC. . . You'll hear it at the meet and greet in 2 weeks!

Dude, the flowmasters actually seem to flow better than the single glasspack! I was out cruising, and it seems like its a lot easier to spin the tires. . . I was actually doing burnouts! It was amazing. . . and my 64 F250 390BB swap has dual flowmasters, as well as the 70 SS454 Monte Carlo. . . Every high performance car we own has flowmasters, I'm going to stick with the brand that I know and trust. . . Besides, you didn't pay $20 for your magnaflow, did you? lol It sounds awesome, and we'll see how much faster it is once I get Ben out to race again. . .

Who won the first time? Nice job getting rid of the glasspack muffler, I'm sure you'll be much happier without it.

Didn't I try and give him some tips on racing an automatic car or was that another V6er? Eh my memory sucks.

Ben raced me before he asked for tips. . . He beat me the other day, but I didn't get a very good launch. The clutch slipped, and the RPS shot down to nothing. I beat him the first time though, and it was pretty awesome.

Sorry But I love my flowmaster. Plus, for the price of my American thunder cat back, its the best one. I can't see spending $800 on a Corsa or Borla stainless when my car will never see winter anyway and it has 18" of stainless welded on for tips. Plus, I don't think flow is a major factor on Nick's little V6. Nor my 300+ hp Z28. Till I hit 500hp, I don't think it'll be a factor.

For $20 Nick, it was a steal.

Sorry Brian, just had to defend my brand, lol.

I remember back in the day when I had my Flowmaster cat back........ It sounded great, and flowed like crap. I since replaced it with a Magnaflow catback . Sounds sexy...... I wish it were a bit louder, but does it sounds great. I'd say for the price you paid you got a great deal. Performance wise you probably lost a few more ponies than you gained . Flowmasters just don't flow well in my opinion on Fbody cars. The only thing I really liked about the Flowmaster system is it's light weight.

I was not pissed in the slightest. I don't know where you got that from. I wasn't even trying. Just giving it some gas. Geez. I don't try to cover up a loss with a stupid excuse like some people who drive orange fbodies. "My clutch is slipping, I couldn't get traction, etc". Dude If you really want a race I'll put you down. As I said, I was just messing around.
